Hello, I'm Connie Conner-Smith, one of the special education teachers at MBE.  I have been teaching for 18 years.  All of those years have been at Moulton-Branch Elementary School.  I am married to Carl Smith, a captain with the Valdosta Fire Department.  Our daughter, Shena, is 17 years old and attends Lowndes High School.

I enjoy working with children and helping them prepare for a bright and successful future.  Prior to teaching, I was a juvenile probation officer, adult, and child protective services case manager, child abuse investigator, and the Family Connection Program for At-Risk teens case manager at Lowndes Middle School.

Our motto at MBE is "My Best Everyday." This is exactly what your children will receive from me and what I expect from them every day.

Your child and I will be working on individualized goals as stated in your child's IEP.  We will also work on the CCGPS grade level skills.  Please refer to your child's homeroom teacher's webpage for specific grade level skills they are currently working on, class requirements, class events, test schedules, and homework assignments.

The Special Education department at MBE has many service models for students with disabilities.  Those models are Consultation,  Inclusion with a Supplemental Aide, Inclusion with Co-Teaching, Resource Pull-Out, and Self-Contained.  Further down in my webpage, I have explained the service models in more detail.

I'm excited to work with your child.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
