PGM's soccer teams took on ATL this weekend to support Atlanta United! ⚽️

These 6th graders enjoyed the beautiful weather at lunch! ☀️

7th grade science students became “birds” this week in a natural selection lab. Using “beaks” made of spoons, binder clips, tweezers, or chopsticks, they competed against the other birds in their group. If they did not eat enough, they did not pass on their genes. They had a blast investigating which beak variation was best for survival and what happens to populations over time! 🐦 #STEM

Last week, Mrs. Justice’s students read an excerpt from the play The Phantom Tollbooth and also watched the film version. They spent the week comparing presentation of events, analyzing character development, and studying plot. 📖 🎥

PGM continues to celebrate the Month of the Military Child! Today, the Military Club enjoyed a lunch outside with sun, popsicles, live guitar music, and chalk art representing what it is like to be a military child. 💜☀️🎶

Sources of Strength Peer Leaders hid hundreds of "positivity eggs" around the school to be found by their peers. Each egg contained an encouraging message, some candy, and a "Pay It Forward" challenge to spread the positivity around The Grove. 😊

📚🍎 We can't let Assistant Principal Week end without another shout out to these wonderful leaders! Mrs. Carswell and Mrs. Hill's service, dedication, and care for every student can be seen throughout our building. Whether they are solving problems behind the scenes, supporting teachers, or making sure every child feels seen and safe — they make a difference every single day. PGM has enjoyed celebrating them this week! ❤️ #APWeek #OneLowndes

The Pine Grove Middle Military Club is excited to celebrate the "Month of the Military Child" all April long! Their first activity was to post an art project created by our students. The Military Club students wrote/drew what it is like to be a military child into the camo design to emphasize one of our mottos: "Military Students: Blend In Anywhere and Stand Out Everywhere." 💜

Our amazing EPIC students showed out at yesterday's Spring Special Olympic Games!🏅They worked hard and had a blast!

Attention families of 8th graders! PGM will host a GMAS Workshop on April 17 at 5:30 PM in the media center especially for you. Come learn more about resources to help your student excel on our upcoming state tests! ✏️⭐️

Happy National Assistant Principal Week! 📚🍎✏️Our two amazing Assistant Principals each chose a word that defines their role and shared why it matters. PGM is so thankful for these ladies! #APWeek #OneLowndes

Mrs. Herman’s 9th grade physical science students demonstrated sound wave properties using instruments! They explained how the change in frequency affects the pitch of the sound. 🎷🥁🎶 #STEM

After learning about how mimicry and camouflage are essential for the survival and success of many species, 7th grade science students created their own butterflies and bugs for a hide and seek activity to illustrate their understanding of these concepts. See if you can find them hiding around this classroom! 🦋 #STEAM

Students in Mrs. Martin’s life science classes completed a Biome Brochure Gallery Walk! They observed and recorded characteristics of each biome and reflected on the relationships between living organisms and their environments. 🌎🌲🏝️❄️🌵 #STEM #Collaboration

PGM kicked off Month of the Military Child this week! Look for more posts about activities and events to celebrate our military-connected students in the days to come! 💜

🌟 What an incredible learning experience for our 6th graders at the Valdosta State University STEAM Center! 🌪️🌧️ The students rotated through hands-on stations where they explored everything from weather patterns and the Coriolis effect to tornadoes and the water cycle. 🌍💧 They even got the chance to step into the shoes of a meteorologist and forecast the weather! 🌦️ It was a fun and educational visit that brought science to life in ways that they won’t soon forget. 👏 #STEAM #LearningByDoing

PGM's Military and Family Life Counselor Amy Gaiss was proud to have been presented a flag flown in an A-10C Warthog over the Middle East by Lt. Col. Rick Olson. (Flag and certificate pictured with his son.) We appreciate all Ms. Gaiss does for our military-connected students and their families!💜 #MonthOfTheMiltaryChild #PurpleUp

The Culinary Crusaders rose to the occasion at their last meeting before Spring Break! 🥣 Mrs. Browning taught the students how to whip up buttermilk biscuits from scratch--and they were flaky perfection. Quite a few teachers could not resist stopping by for a taste! 🍽️ #AfterSchoolDeliciousness #BakingSkills
