Proud moment: Mrs. Croft's 9th graders are learning real physics concepts through hands-on experimentation! Yesterday's lab had students calculating their own acceleration as they ran across marked distances. Nothing beats outdoor learning to make science stick! 🌞🔬

Our LHS Accounting students recently traded the classroom for the boardroom with an incredible tour of the Valdosta State University College of Business. It was a day packed with insight, innovation, and inspiration!
Highlights of the day:
*The Path to CPA: Students met with VSU Accounting Professors to dive deep into business majors and the journey to becoming a Certified Public Accountant.
*Innovation in Action: At the Entrepreneur Center, our crew explored the podcast studio and green screen room. 🎙️📽️
*The Trading Floor: The Valdosta State Investment Group (VSIG) gave us a front-row seat to real-time stock market action in the Wall Street Center. 📈
Huge thanks to VSU for hosting us and showing our students what their future could look like!

🎓 Future Looks Bright at LHS! 🚀Our teachers spent the last week of March dressing up to spark meaningful conversations about the many paths our students can take after graduation! From military service to technical pathways, here’s how we celebrated College and Career Readiness Week:
Military Monday (March 23): We kicked off the week in camo and military branch shirts, with staff sharing insights into military career paths.
Teaching Tuesday (March 24): Teachers repped their subject areas and shared their "why" for choosing a career in education.
Working Wednesday (March 25): We saw everything from chefs to engineers as teachers dressed up as former professions to discuss their diverse work histories.
Pathways Thursday (March 26): Exploring LHS Pathways! We wore our Lowndes and CTAE gear while students learned about the specialized programs available right here on campus.
Fun Friday (March 27): We wrapped it up with a tailgate! Teachers wore their alma mater shirts and shared their college experiences to get students excited about the university life.
It’s been an incredible week of exploring possibilities! What’s your dream career? 💭✨#CollegeAndCareer #LHSPathways #FutureReady #MarchMadness

Our students and staff showed up yesterday in their best green gear to celebrate Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day. We’re proud to support our students, friends, and family members living with CP. Together, we can build a more inclusive world!

Ms. Stack took a moment to share her "why" and encourage our Vikings to consider a career in the classroom. There is no calling quite like shaping the next generation!
Our aspiring educators even got to "Teach in the Peach" for a day! They put their skills to the test by using power testing terms and literacy strategies to craft their own test questions. 📝🍑
Because chromosomes look a little like socks - and on 3/21 we celebrate the extra chromosome that makes our friends with Down syndrome so uniquely amazing. So we wear them bright, bold, and mismatched… to start conversations and celebrate inclusion
