We are excited to honor our students and acknowledge their impressive accomplishments. We commend their academic achievements both in the classroom and on College Board assessments such as the PSAT. Is your high school student looking for community service opportunities? LHS Impact Club is holding an Interest meeting this Monday, Aug 19th, at 7:40 am in C307. All students are welcome and should make plans to attend! Returning members can scan the QR code to pay their membership dues and purchase a t-shirt (optional).

The PSAT will be given at LHS on October 9th. This is free for 10th graders but you must register. The test is also available for 9th and 11th graders for a fee of $18. See flier to register.

Mrs. Smith’s AP Government classes were tasked with designing government themed amusement parks! Their amusement parks were full of rides, attractions, restaurants, and gift shops all related to US Government concepts they learned throughout the course. Students included rides like Gerrymander-Go-Round to hi-light gerrymandered districts, Filibuster Falls to recap filibustered debates in the Senate, Committee Cups to show how Congressional committees are responsible for marking up legislation, and Bipartisan Bumper Cars to show how the two major parties continually bump into each other as they try to compromise in the policy making process. These Vikings are so creative and may just have a future in theme park design if they don’t find themselves running for elected office!
Ms. Bellflower taught the very first AP Precalculus class at LHS this year and almost 100 students took the AP Exam this Monday.
"I cannot be more proud of my AP Precalculus students! I couldn't have picked a better group of students to be a part of the very first EVER AP Precalculus Exam nationwide. Watch out for these kids because they are going to do GREAT things!!"
